Our September Meeting had over 60 people in attendance.
Our Guest Speaker was Judith Andrew
The guest speaker of the evening was Judith Andrew who has been appointed to the Canada Employment Insurance Commission as the Commissioner for Employers, Human Resource and Skills Development.
Judith spoke on the recent changes made to the employment insurance Program, and touched on several topics that would help employers find skilled employees, and help workers have more of an opportunity for find employment.
There are five areas that have had changes made, to help with economic growth and meet challenges associated with both an aging population and growing international competition for skilled workers. These include Employment Supports and Skills Training, Hiring Canadians First, Working While on Claim, Variable Best Weeks.
